Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to the Rhoizos website and the material published on it. By using the site, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

1. Permitted use

You may browse the site, share links, and quote reasonable excerpts where permitted by law. Quotations must preserve context and clearly identify the author, article title, and Rhoizos as the source.

2. Uses requiring permission

Full republication, substantial reproduction, translation, adaptation, syndication, commercial reuse, audio or video conversion, anthology use, course-pack use, and similar exploitation require prior written permission unless a legal exception clearly applies.

Republication licences start at US$600 per article. Final fees may vary according to the work, rights involved, Rhoizos's editorial and creative contribution, the original author's terms, language, territory, medium, audience, duration, and intended use.

3. Automated access and scraping

You may not scrape, crawl, mirror, bulk-download, systematically extract, or reproduce the site in a way that places an unreasonable load on infrastructure, bypasses technical restrictions, substitutes for the publication, or creates a competing archive or dataset without permission.

4. Artificial intelligence and datasets

Access to public pages does not grant permission to reproduce full articles, build commercial datasets, or use substantial protected content beyond applicable copyright exceptions. Licensing enquiries can be sent to hello@rhoizos.com.

5. Prohibited conduct

• do not probe, scan, or test site security without authorisation;
• do not bypass security measures, rate limits, access controls, or technical restrictions;
• do not upload malicious code or interfere with service operation;
• do not impersonate Rhoizos, its authors, editors, or partners;
• do not remove attribution, copyright notices, credits, or rights information;
• do not use the site for unlawful, deceptive, fraudulent, abusive, or infringing activity.

6. Accounts, comments, submissions, and moderation

You are responsible for activity on your Rhoizos account and for keeping sign-in credentials secure. Usernames, profile information, comments, and published author pages may be visible to the public.

You remain responsible for anything you submit. Rhoizos may edit, return, reject, moderate, or publish submissions at its editorial discretion. Submitting work does not guarantee publication.

7. Contributor licence

When you submit an article or other work through Rhoizos and accept this licence, you grant Rhoizos a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, publish, copy-edit, edit, format, technically adapt, display, distribute, communicate to the public, archive, excerpt, promote, and market the work in connection with Rhoizos in any medium or format.

You retain copyright in your work and may publish or license it elsewhere. This licence is non-exclusive and does not transfer ownership of your copyright.

8. Member PDFs, financial support, and licensing

Signed-in Rhoizos members may download PDF editions of published articles for personal reading only.

Financial support processed through Dodo Payments is voluntary and separate from Rhoizos account access and editorial decisions. Supporting Rhoizos does not buy publication, editorial influence, favourable coverage, advertising, sponsorship, access to authors, or republication rights.

9. Third-party services and links

The site may link to third-party websites or rely on external service providers. We do not control their content, availability, security, or terms.

10. No professional advice

Articles are published for general reading, commentary, research, and cultural discussion. They are not medical, legal, tax, financial, investment, or other professional advice.

11. Availability and disclaimers

We may change, suspend, remove, or reorganise content and site features at any time. To the extent permitted by law, the site and its content are provided on an “as available” basis.

12. Enforcement, changes, and contact
